My house is just in front of main road there is dust…dust and dust….. both the rooms open in front balcony behind the main entrance. There was lots of dust, glares also insects sneak in through the cracks in the door, draft in winter, hot waves in the summer. Lots of factors combined made a nuisance to all the family members sit into the first two immediate rooms both of them are passage to the house too.
I was in Delhi, while goggling for something else I stumbled upon the blog that contained Draft Blocker . I was so amused and thankful to the owner of crafting chaos, that I have no words for her praise. I was greatly in need of the blocker. After coming back, from Delhi to my house at Hisar. The first thing I did was…. Assembled the raw material for it . I dig out some plumbing pipes(remains of plumbing work that had been done in the long past) a coarse patio curtain, very older one, a skirt of my nice I sewed for her in the year 1993. Luckily two plumbing pipes were equal to the door’s width, for front main iron gate I extended smaller one by inserting a wooden road through its tunnel.
I just wrapped the cotton curtain cloth around the rod, after desired width I wrapped the skirt cloth …with brown beautiful flowers and green leaves, and sewed it throw the length of the dust blocker. Then I tied its ends with cotton thread.
See in the picture the recycled material reused
The draft blocker in place.
First I wrapped it to the tube and then hand sewed it throw all its length no machine used for any stitching.
The completed project! This took me under an hour to complete too as the intelligent designer. It costs me nothing too I used all the recycled material.
Not only has it worked to block out hot air in summer its cherry sight.
Happy recycling!
