My true potentials

I used to think that my values are different, the values inculcated through my father and some created by me makes me a different person totally different with the people surrounded me. I always was master of my own self never flown by others never imitate anyone. I always focused to my true potential.

I always used to, cook, wash, knit, crochet, sew, spin, mend for my family: before marriage being eldest I did all these tasks for my brothers and sisters, and also for parents. On our stay at village I used to bring water from well, go to fields for weeding, harvesting, bringing fodder , milk our cow and buffalo, make cow-dung cakes all the chores a farm women does in rural area.

My loving father this photo when we were in Chandigarh in 1978

My father was in the opinion that our sanskrti should be preserved. He used to go to fields with us taught me how to make a rope out of a bush(khip ki rassi), to bind fuelwood in it, how to do pruning of trees. How to spin yarn to weave a cot.

When my father was posted to Jorhat, Assam we stayed at our village for some time. In village ours was a joint family with my grandparents, uncle-aunts and their children. During our stay at village for longer duration , my grand father allotted each family their share of house and agri land etc.so we got separated and reduced into several nuclear families.

He allotted us worst of agriland (18 bighas) full of long lasting weeds and sand dunes, again the land was not irrigated, it was rain fed part of birani khetiland (depend on rains for irrigation). For Kharif crop we prepare the land I along my mother did the preparation of land(weeding) and after rain we got plowed it by hired labour. We did the weeding when the crop was some what I feet in height. There was bajra, gwar along with moong and moth ( pulses) in between some creepers of watermelon and kakdi, kaachri etc. the production of watermelon was more then the main crop of bajra. We collected the ripe watermelon in one room of our house there was a big heap of watermelons in a corner. They lasts for about six months we distributed our production to our dear ones still we had a lot. We enjoyed tasty organic fruit that time …no fertilizer (only mulch of the particular weed called daab). Daab is a one long root weed don’t allow to feed the crop, steals away the nutrients and water for itself. Weed itself is of not any use.

The difference after marriage or you can say when I become mature I understand that cooking a meal is not to feed my children but also nutrition, health, integrity, reliability and the most effective way of drawing a growing family close each day. I didn't like to enter anyone else to cook food for my children,I never believe in taking help for washing utensils for me , some people say I am vahmi, so obsessed about cleanliness, we people never bring our shoes inside our house, I hate hygienic ways of living.

Have a HAPPY DAY!
