Glass Bottle!

Recycling all the glass bottles that get thrown in the trash every day…is really a great way to go green!

How one can throw a good looking glass bottle in a garbage box?

Sauce bottle deco- crochet pattern

This is my 2nd crochet pattern for the glass bottle! It’s my own design –please does contact me if you have any problem fallowing this pattern…through comments…..I will post the answer in blog itself!

I love glass in my deco! Piling up loads of trash on the Earth is something really to think about.

Again it seemed such a shame to just immediately recycle a lovely little glass bottle. So I soaked off the labels and started to make its dress…

The final product! A beautiful flower behind the bars! It reminds me the childhood story of a demon with beautiful garden with big iron fencing….children glance at the flowers in the garden greedily, but the demon never …ever let anyone to enter the garden.

The bottle may otherwise dubiously copied and sold again with another products and their own label.

Think! What a waste it is that a good looking bottle if thrown away. Just think and make one like this!

OK, NOW------on to the pattern!

I am sure you will appreciate the finished product out of waste, as much as I do! Share and enjoy, but please do mention my identity…..

For this project, you will need:

The material you need:

· A 250 ml empty sauce bottle with the cap, ring and labels removed.

· A No 12 crochet hook

· Red and blue yarn, here wool yarn is used you might use any you have in your stash.

Pattern:

Wrap red yarn around the tip of your little finger four times, slip stitch into the circle.

Ch 1, 21 sc in the circle join the round with slip stitch.

1st round: Ch 2, 1 treble in every stitch; Join with slip stitch.

2nd round: Again same as round 2nd; Ch 2, 1 treble in every stitch, join with slip stitch.

3rd round: Ch 1, single crochets in each stitch; Join with slip stitch.

4th round: Ch 7, yarn over the hook 5 times, yarn over the hook and pull through one loop on the hook likewise yarn over and pull through the another loop on hook, crochet all the loops in this way to make the stitch as long as the 5 stitches of the ch 7 at the beginning of this round, ch 2, skip one stitch and dc on the next stitch, repeat for the entire round (11 big 5 chain stitches), Join with slip stitch.

5th round: Ch 1, dc in each stitch; join the round (33 dc’s) and fasten off red yarn to join blue.

6th round: Join blue yarn using slip stitch and ch1, dc in each stitch; Join with slip stitch.

7th round: Ch 12, yarn over 10 times, yarn over the hook pull through one loop on hook, like wise crochet all the loops, one at a time, chain 1 skip two stitches and sc in the next ch, repeat for the entire round like the 4th round, join the round.

8th round: Ch1, dc in each stitch (44 dc.s), fasten off the blue yarn.

9th round: Join red yarn with slip stitch and ch 1, dc in each stitch; join the round.

10th round: chain 15, skip 2 stitches slip stitch into next stitch, repeat entire round likewise, at the end join with slip stitch and fasten off.

These 15 chain loops are casing for the string to tie at the bottom.

Insert yarn in three folds through the loops……and…
Pop your dress onto the bottle from the neck down- it will take some wiggling and should fit snugly once in place. Pull the yarn string and make tight knot and weave in the tails.

Make the ring of yarn as for the dress

1st round: Chain 1, double crochet in loop formed by wrapping yarn on the tip of little finger (18 double crochets).

2nd round: *Chain 15, slip stitches into next 2 stitches*, repeat to end (8 petals), Join with slip stitch and fasten off. Weave in the yarn tail.

Insert and place the flower behind the blue crocheted bars in the dress of the bottle.

This completes the deco of my junk glass bottle.

Make one for you it’s easy just some yarn and hook, chains, trebles and slip stitches and you are done.

Happy crocheting!
