Weaving life - The Story of Ecuador's "Panama Hat" (1/3)

i stumbled upon this video just have a look

The traditional skills of making thing all around the world is on the way to disappear because of our reluctance to embrace our heritage. Then people begin to realize what we’ve “lost”

i remember my grandpa making things of his own..
he used to spun hair (human) with drop down spindle for making durable sacs to carry loads of grain from our farm on back of the camel.
i remember making him munj ropes for making our family charpoies, ropes to pull water from well, for making pris and several other-items for the family

see the hardships involved in this video

i crocheted this basket with lid last week

this one is coiled braid basket
see the lid
the closer view
the basket ready to stack-in
isn't it weaving life too the basket out of used clothes?
Happy day!
